The Legal & Compliance Director will provide strategic legal counsel to the executive team, oversee risk mitigation frameworks, and ensure the organization’s adherence to international laws, industry standards, and ethical guidelines. The role demands a highly disciplined legal mind with deep knowledge of security-sector regulations and global compliance requirements.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert legal advice to senior leadership on regulatory, contractual, and operational matters.
  • Oversee legal risk assessments across all services and jurisdictions (UAE, East Africa, and beyond).
  • Ensure compliance with international laws, Free Zone regulations, and industry-specific requirements (e.g., data privacy, arms trade, cyber law).
  • Draft, review, and negotiate high-value contracts, NDAs, MOUs, and service agreements.
  • Manage licensing, audits, due diligence, and external legal relationships.
  • Develop internal compliance frameworks, whistleblower policies, and employee training programs.
  • Liaise with regulators, law enforcement, and legal counterparts globally as needed.
  • Support investigations, dispute resolution, and, where applicable, litigation strategy.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Licensed attorney with 5+ years of legal experience, preferably in the security, intelligence, defense, or technology sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of UAE, international, and cross-border compliance frameworks.
  • Experience working with Free Zone authorities, data protection laws (e.g., GDPR), and government contracts.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage risk and compliance in sensitive operational environments.
  • Excellent negotiation, drafting, and stakeholder communication skills.
  • High integrity, discretion, and sound judgment are essential.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB or JD); Master’s degree or LLM preferred.
